Pointe shoes please

Every ballerina wants to own a lot of pairs of pointe shoes. You can actually do that if you are in a ballet company. But in my case, I am still a student so I only have one pair of pointe shoes :(. It is sad because my pointe shoes that I use for practices is my pointe shoes that I use for our ballet show. I don't like using my pointes in shows because mg pointes are already dirty! I don't like to dance with dirty shoes but I must do it. That's why I really need a lot of pairs. But I cannot do that because first, pointes are really expensive! And second, ordering of pointes is really slow. It would take up 2-3 weeks before I get my new pointes. Ballerinas has a lot of struggles but whatever we don't care because we are still strong! 

Independence Show

Yesterday we had a show for our
Independence day which is today. Happy Independence btw to all Filipinos! Our show yesterday was really successful. Lots of people were watching us dance. But our show wouldn't be successful if we didn't practice hard. Every after class we would go to the ballet room and dance. We wouldn't want to miss a single practice. Even last Wednesday we stayed up until 12AM just for the blocking and guess what we had classes the next morning! But of course ballerinas aren't weak so we attended school even though we are tired. So yesterday, we showed to people the result of our hardwork and passion. 

RAD Workshop!

Last May 12-16, 2015 we had a RAD Workshop. The workshop is for our RAD exam next year. The teachers were from Manila! We had Sir Raul, he is the only Filipino RAD Examiner! And of course our contemporary teacher, Sir Chabbi. They tought us awesome techniques. It was kinda hard because some of the combinations were hard to follow but it was hella fun! 

What is RAD?

In our ballet we follow the Royal Academy of Dance or RAD. It isn't from Russia, but from London.

We have a different technique from the Russian ballet. And guess what, our ballet school here in the Philippines specifically in Iloilo City, is the only ballet school that is cool because we are unique for we have a different way of dancing ballet.

Years in Ballet

I'm still 14 years old so I really cannot say that I've been dancing ballet for 30 years lol. I've only been dancing ballet for a decade already! Imagine, 10 years of dancing ballet yet I was never tired. In those 10 years, I learned a lot of new things. Not just ballet but also the different values in life. :)

Did ballet choose me?

To be honest, I never chose ballet. It was my mom who chose ballet for me. If my sister didn't stop dancing ballet, them maybe I would just be a lame kid who sucks at dancing lol. Let's just say I was happy that my sister stopped *yes you can call me a bad sister lol*

Anyways, there were a lot of decision-making that happened in my life and in every decision that I make, ballet is always an option. Guess what? I always choose ballet but I don't know why I chose it. I had all the chances to stop dancing ballet but I never took those chances.

People usually asks me what do I follow more, my heart or my brain. I answer them, "I do not know." Why? My brain and heart works together and tells me "DO BALLET, don't worry everything's gonna be fine." After the advice that my brain and heart told me, I go for ballet.

BUT WAIT! I DID NOT CHOOSE BALLET!!! BUT BALLET CHOSE ME.

If ballet didn't choose me, I wouldn't force myself to dance like a freak because I am not meant for ballet but no, I dance gracefully because ballet chose me and told me never stop dancing.

What Is Ballet?
